Apple chips, a popular snack option
What are apple chips?
Apple chips are a popular snack option made from thin slices of apples. They are crunchy and have a sweet taste. Apple chips are often touted as a healthier alternative to traditional potato or corn chips because they are made from fruit and contain less fat.
What types of apple chips are there?
There are different types of apple chips that are made in different ways. Most apple chips are made from raw apples that are first washed, cored, and thinly sliced. The apple slices are then dried, either in the sun or in a special drying oven.
However, some apple chips are also made from boiled or baked apples. This type of apple chips is often touted as a sweeter and softer alternative to the dried apple chips. To make cooked or baked apple chips, the apples are first peeled, cored, and thinly sliced. The slices are then boiled in water or apple juice or baked in the oven until soft and sweet.
Many manufacturers also add spices and other ingredients to the apple chips to give them a special flavor. Commonly used spices include cinnamon, ginger, and nutmeg. This also applies to the apple chips that we use in our limited edition Mandel Britta Winter , because they are cinnamon.
After the apple chips are made, they are typically packaged and shipped. Most apple chips come packaged in airtight bags or cans to keep them fresh and crispy.
We use the apple chips to refine our granola. To do this, we chop the dried apple rings and mix them together with roasted cashew nuts and dried cranberries into the roasted muesli, which consists of oat flakes , almonds , puffed spelled, coconut chips, cinnamon , salt, maple syrup and coconut oil .
